Mountain Bike Challenging Tour

Are you a mountain bike enthusiast and want more challenging courses? This activity is for you!

The activity begins at the Arts Platform, where a brief briefing on the tour and bikes will be held.

The route continues through the historical center of the city, city park and follows to Paçô Vieira where begins the ascent of the mountain. Here the trails cross forests, fields, and villages and take you to the destination, the peak of Penha mountain at 605 meters of altitude.

Here you will find leafy forests with vegetation composed mainly of oaks but also corktree, strawberry trees, cypress, cedar and linden trees. It is also possible to observe several species of birds, some rodents, and squirrels. This place also has a religious character where it is possible to highlight its Sanctuary, the chapel of Nossa Sra. do Carmo and Santo Elias cave.

After a short snack, we begin the downhill, one of the most fun parts of the tour, by the trail more suitable for you.

You will visit the Pousada de Santa Marinha da Costa and the historic area of Couros where we can contemplate several old industrial structures used in the tannery industry.
